Willow's Lunch

Wow, has it really been a week? I promise it's not because I have given up making my daughter lunches lol. I have been busy with lots of Christmas shopping for the kids and Thanksgiving etc. Hope you all had a good one! We spent most of the day with my husband's family and then went to visit some friends in the evening. And despite not getting their naps, the kids did really great.

I did manage to get a pic of one of Willow's lunches from last week in my new lock and lock box which I ordered from Amazon. I see it used often on a lot of the bento blogs I read regularly and I've wanted one for a while. Finally I got one and I love it. Especially the four little removable boxes although I did find they were deeper than they appear, so it packed a little too much food for Willow to eat at this age.

Anyway, here it is. And if you don't look too hard, you won't even notice that I forgot to take the label off from around the sides!

She had a bologna sandwich with a little cheese elephant (sugar candy eye), some juicy blackberries, wheat thin crackers with cream cheese + 1 fig newton and some veggies (carrots, cucumbers). She ate very little of everything. I think she had a particularly small appetite that day too.

I have a few little projects I'm working on right now and trying to spend more time with the kiddies in the run up to Christmas so the slow posts will continue for a bit I think. But I am still reading! :)

  7. Claire, willow doesnt really eat them either. I'm just trying to get her used to seeing them in her lunch box. That usually does the trick. Eventually she will start to eat them.

  8. Sonoma Bento: I love that borders do bento boxes! I didn't see any I liked for my four year old though so I've never bought any there. Thanks for the understanding :D

  9. Mari, bento is a japanese form of boxed lunch. Healthy and pretty to look at, in a nutshell. Although there is so much more information you can find on the net, not to mention many more bento blogs. Take a look at the list on my side bar for some good ones :)
