Flower lunch today. I just wanted to keep it simple after being up all night with my son. I whipped this up for Willow in five minutes so that's simple enough for me!
She had a turkey sandwich cut out with a round-shaped cutter and decorated with a bologna/cheese/nori/cucumber flower. Also some peaches (canned), carrots and cucumber and a little parsley for garnish :D She ate every last bite ... yay!
On another note: what do you all think of my new header? I love it. And I have the wonderfully talented Erin to thank. She did the designs in one day based on some sketches she drew. And it even looks like me ... if i were a few pounds lighter anyway! Thanks so much Erin :)
Oh and, don't forget to grab my new button over there on the right!!

ReplyDeleteGood Morning! First off, your blog name is AWESOME and made me literally laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to make creative lunches for my 4 year old that usually plays with her food.. I, however, am so very uncreative when it comes to doing this.
I love your idea's!! (I'm shooting over from New Friend Friday's at The Trendy Treehouse)
Have a great day!

And what about adding some more pics? I don’t want to offend anyone, page is really great. But according to the scientists visitors acquire info much more effective when they see certain useful pictures.

Adorable, sunny bento! Your site looks welcoming and beautiful ,Kelly!
ReplyDeleteThank you Candace. I like your blog name too! haha I’m glad you like my lunches. I want you to know I am in no way a creative person either … honestly. Infact, I have always considered myself the complete and utter opposite. Take a look back at my first bentos for example: http://kpolizzi.blogspot.com/search/label/Bento
ReplyDeleteBut there are just so many great ideas out there on the web and on other blogs and in books, you can’t help but be inspired. Once I started I was surprised at how enjoyable it was to put thought behind lunches and I discovered a side to myself that I totally wasn’t familiar with.
My daughter is a great eater – now whether that is due to her bento lunches or its just her, I don’t know but I do know it helps lots of other picky eaters and just breaks up the norm for you both. Basically all I’m trying to say is, you should consider giving it a shot! I promise once you see your 4 year old’s little face light up at a funny sandwich you’ll be hooked!
Thank you so much for following, I’m following you back. Oh and If you do try it, do post some pics!
