Willow's Lunch

My husband has caught a total of six mice this past week. Well, I say caught, they were already dead but finding them was such a relief since they were stinking the whole house out. Two were in the basement, one was behind the stove, and two more were out on the porch in the walls, which he had to tear down to get to (some rotten dry wall already on it’s way out). He’s such a good mouse buster! One of them was so huge from all the nibbles he’d been taking out of my fruit it almost looked like a rat! Ick. Lets just hope that's the last of them or I really will consider moving out!

In other news, my daughter loves to watch the British show Charlie and Lola and, if I’m honest, so do I. I don’t quite know why this little cartoon has me so engaged over all the others. Maybe it’s because it’s British, or because they say cute little British phrases I remember saying as a kid such as, ‘absolutely and completely not messy’ or maybe it’s the collage-style animation. Whatever it is I just love it and have caught myself trying to persuade her to watch it over other cartoons lots of times before! Hee. Anyhow, I decided it would be fun to make a Charlie and Lola sandwich for Willow today in her new bento (yes, I finally found one at the Asian market near me!). It was actually just Lola, or meant to be. Willow saw it and insisted it was Charlie, not Lola … she’s probably right. Or maybe Lola’s evil twin lol. I first saw this sandwich on funkylunch.com and just love all the other fun sandwiches there are on the site. The coolest thing is, I think they were made by a dad for his kids.

The sandwich was tuna mayo (leftover from the appetizers I made). She also has some strawberries and raisins in the lunch box.

Visit Shannon's linky to see some really great bentos.
