The other day we had quite a few friends over for dinner so I was trying to figure out what I could make for a dessert that everyone would like. I ended up deciding on an apple crumble, as shown above. I didn't follow any one recipe. Just brought a ton (way too much) of sweet apples, sliced and par-boiled them, put them in a buttered dish sprinkled with lots of sugar, bit of cinnamon and then a crumble mixture on top and baked for about 35 minutes in the oven. I put it in the fridge to let it get cold for after dinner. It was nice but needed more flavor to the apples. I should have put in a lot more cinnamon and maybe some ground cloves - which I looked for in my cupboard but couldn't find at the time. So with all the leftover apples I just made a quick applesauce. Mashed them and mixed with sugar and cinnamon. Not too much though because it will be mostly Willow who eats it (in her breakfast etc) so I wanted to try to keep it somewhat healthy.
