PB&A Sandwiches
When I moved to the US from the UK I discovered something interesting. Americans love peanut butter. And I don't just mean they're very fond of it. I mean, they LOVE them some peanut butter! lol Is there anything they don't put it on?? Hah. Peanut butter is actually popular in the UK too but nothing at all like it is here. In fact, you'd be hard-pushed to find anyone from my parents generation who've even tried it I think.
I do get it though, I like peanut butter too (especially when combined with chocolate ... sigh) but there's one combination I don't get. Honestly, peanut butter and jelly?? I have tried to like this. My husband hasforced persuaded me to try bites of his sandwiches but it almost makes me gag! Annd to my horror, he tells me his Mother would make him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for his lunches growing up. Yikes. I make Willow these 'sandwiches' every now and then just because she's my little American girl and I need to respect the peanut butter love :b but I don't think I could do jelly in her lunches everyday. All I ever got were plain butter and ham sandwiches!
So here's a nicer alternative: peanut butter and apple sandwiches :) Still yummy but healthier too. Especially if you make it with natural peanut butter and spread it on whole-wheat bread.

Never thought of that one before, we don't really eat it in our house i have never been much of a fan, BUT when we were growing up Colin used to make us peanut butter sandwiches with his mum's home made plum Jam and they were Goooddd, and mum made us peanut butter with banana, hmmm i think i made have to try kyle with these!

Poor you. ..Not growing up on peanut butter and jelly, that's just not right. ;) Just kidding. My mom gave us peanut butter and jelly for lunch all the time growing up. And it is one of my son's favorites. I do like the idea of PB & A. I may have to try that one with him. I love peanut butter and bananas!!
That's hilarious! We eat peanut butter and pickle sandwiches a lot. I bet that sounds gross to you! It's kind of a family tradition. We also eat peanut butter and Nutella. Now that is one you would LOVE!

Hello! I'm from UK (northern England) but now I live in Germany! I used to love Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches! I will have to try it with apple, what a novel idea! I have been known to eat peanut butter off a stick of celery too - quite yummy! Also made a nice dip for a picnic by mixing peanutbutter with plain yogurt - unusual and surprisingly tasty!
