I have been making my garlic bread this way for a while and everyone who eats it loves it, even my mother in law asked me how to make it and she's the queen of cooking! So I thought I'd share. It's real simple and the ingredients depend on how much you are making, they don't have to be exact. The following pics and amounts are from Stephen's lunch today.
Started with two slices of Italian bread. French is also good. Mine was a couple days old but once it's baked, it goes nice and crisp anyway so it doesn't matter.
Then mix seasoning into 4 oz. or so of softened butter (or melt in the microwave slightly for 10 seconds). The seasoning I use is a tiny pinch of dried parsley and a good shaking of crushed rosemary and Italian. Add some minced garlic, about 2 cloves.
Once mixed, spread onto bread. As you can see, I spread it quite thickly but you can be as generous as you like.
Then bake on a baking sheet in a preheated 400F oven for about 10-15 minutes or until toasty and golden.
Eat!

yes, but better to freeze before baking. You can spread on the butter mixture and wrap in foil.
